Support Kids with a Bed to Call Their Own

The team at Bold North is collecting new, twin-sized mattress pads, sheets, and blankets; pillows; and stuffed animals for children throughout the Twin Cities metro who are receiving a cozy new bed – perhaps for the first time.

The need is great: Each week, My Very Own Bed delivers new beds and Dream Kits (bedding, book, and stuffed animal) to 40-50 children. We’d like to collect enough items to help pack at least a week’s worth of Dream Kits. You can help by:

For inspiration or to order directly, you can check out their Kohl’s registry. My Very Own bed works with kids ages 2-17 with so many different interests, so a variety of items is especially helpful.

Every gift, no matter how big or small, helps make a huge different in children’s lives. With new beds and Dream Kits, kids experience the benefits of sleep which include increased attendance and improved performance at school, better behavior, emotional stability, and much more.

Homelessness and housing instability negatively affects a child’s health, development, and education. Stable housing and a restorative night’s rest can give kids the boost they need to catch up to their peers in school and achieve their personal potential.
